Hey, I’m Brittany, founder of BWEX WANDERS.
I’ve spent the past fifteen years as a publicist in the hospitality industry, working behind the scenes with boutique hotels, restaurants + destinations to help shape some of the places travelers can’t stop talking about. A big part of the job has always been understanding what makes somewhere feel special — the design, the neighborhood, the people, the food, the sense of place — and turning that into a story worth paying attention to.
That also meant keeping a finger on the pulse of what was opening, changing + actually worth knowing about. For years, I was the friend sending hotel lists, restaurant recs + very opinionated answers to “Where should we go?” Eventually, that became BWEX WANDERS: a full-service travel planning agency helping clients figure out where to go, where to stay + what’s actually worth doing once they get there.
My background taught me how to look past the marketing, spot what has real substance + tap into deep industry relationships. I research obsessively, narrow the options + plan around what matters most to you — whether you need one great stay, help deciding between destinations or the entire trip handled.
You bring me the idea. I’ll help turn it into the right trip.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
For most hotels, I can book the same publicly available rate you’d find direct while adding preferred benefits through Fora, Virtuoso + hotel partner programs — things like daily breakfast, hotel credits, potential room upgrades and flexible check-in/out.
There’s also a human on the other side. I communicate directly with hotel teams, flag special occasions + preferences and make sure the details are being looked after before you arrive.
-
No! Straightforward hotel bookings are complimentary, and preferred-partner rates are often the same flexible rate you’d find directly with the hotel.
If a different rate or promotion is meaningfully better for you, I'll say so. The goal is the right booking, not the one with the most perks attached.
-
Hotels, cruise lines and other travel partners typically pay advisors a commission that’s already built into the rate — it doesn’t get added onto your bill.
For trips that require more extensive research, itinerary design + coordination, I charge a separate planning fee based on the scope of the trip. You’ll always know that fee before I start.
-
Perfect. Send it my way.
If I can book the property through one of my partner channels, I’ll compare the available rates + benefits, handle the reservation and communicate with the hotel before you arrive — at no additional cost to you.
-
Send me the confirmation. Depending on the property, rate and cancellation terms, I may be able to take over the reservation or rebook it with preferred benefits attached.
-
You can book through me and still earn your card points — you're paying with the same card either way. What changes is how the hotel sees the reservation. Portals are transactional. Advisor bookings tend to sit higher in the queue for upgrades and room assignments, and there's an actual person talking to the hotel about your stay instead of a call center.
The bigger argument: your points usually go further on airfare. Transfer bonuses to airline partners can stretch them a long way, and the perks I can add — breakfast, credits, upgrades — don't cost you points at all. Spending them on a hotel room is often the weakest return you'll get.
-
When I book an eligible hotel-direct rate, your loyalty number goes on the reservation and you earn qualifying points and receive applicable status benefits.
Some third-party and promotional rates work differently. I'll flag it before booking rather than after.
-
Hotel-only bookings are complimentary.
For trips requiring dedicated research + itinerary planning, I charge a planning fee based on the level of support, length + complexity of the trip. You’ll know the scope and fee upfront before I begin.
-
Absolutely. Personal experience is useful, but good travel advising is ultimately about research, relationships + knowing where to look.
I lean on hotel partners, local experts, destination specialists, fellow advisors + years of industry knowledge, then filter everything through the same lens I use for places I know firsthand. I’d rather research something obsessively than pretend I know it.
-
Not Airbnb directly, but I have access to private homes + villas through several partner platforms.
If you've found something you love, send it. There's a decent chance I can book the same property or something close through a partner, which keeps it connected to the rest of your trip.

AI is great for brainstorming, research + getting ideas on the table. I use technology as part of my own research process, too.
The difference is judgment, context + accountability. I’m not just generating options; I’m narrowing them based on how you actually travel, comparing real rates and room categories, tapping hotel relationships + local partners, and handling the booking details when it’s time to make things happen.
AI can give you a list. My job is to know what’s actually worth your time.
